Amey have created ‘Chat and Learn’ to help inspire the next generation of young people into STEM. It offers a chance for everyone aged between 14 to 24 years old to request a virtual 30-minute 1-2-1 career talk with an Amey employee, or for a teacher to request a group virtual career talk to a class.

Aims:

Inspire young people to take up STEM subjects and to pursue a career within this area
Give young people the opportunity to reach out to some of our Amey employees, with the chance to ask them questions
Provide young people with the confidence and motivation to kickstart their career
Give young people some direction in thinking about their careers
Provide young people with the resources and tools needed to develop their essential skills
Help young people understand the different opportunities and pathways into Amey, including apprenticeships and degrees.

Capacity

Maximum of 30 participants.

Duration

One session lasting for 30 minutes maximum - teachers holding a group session may request a longer duration.

Improve engagement, interest or enjoyment in STEM subjects
Learning what the engineering workplace is like
Develop engineering employability skills
Improve awareness and aspirations for STEM-related study and careers
